Why Is Water Important?
Besides the fact that it will quench your thirst, water plays an important roll in your bodies day-to-day functioning. According to the CDC, “Getting enough water every day is important for your health. Drinking water can prevent dehydration, a condition that can cause unclear thinking, result in mood change, cause your body to overheat, and lead to constipation and kidney stones.”
How Can You Calculate How Much Water You Should Be Drinking?
You can calculate how much water you should be drinking by using this simple body weight formula!
1. Take your weight (in pounds) and divide by 2.2.
2. Multiply that number depending on your age: If you are younger than 30, multiply by 40. If you are between 30-55, multiply by 35. If you are older than 55, multiply by 30.
3. Divide that sum by 28.3.
4. Your total is how many ounces of water you should drink each day. Divide that number by 8 to see your result in cups.
