Since we can’t skip the holiday all together, we’ve put together a few tips to help stay on track!

Tip #1 – Start out the day strong.  Begin Valentines day on a healthy note.  Maybe try a strawberry smoothie to keep with the pink theme.  For lunch, pack a low calorie lunch.

Tip #2 – Resist the urge to nosh on those chocolates!  Yes, they are delicious.  Yes, they will be everywhere. However, just a couple of those little morsels are FULL of calories.  Skip them and opt for a hand full of nuts or something more nutritious.

Tip #3 – Spend Valentines night with your honey by cooking a nice meal together.  You can better control the calories and it gives you some extra quality time with that someone special.  If you are going out, scope out the menu before you go to see what your low-cal options are.

Tip #4 – You KNOW you are going to have dessert.  It is Valentines Day, right?  As long as you manage your portion control in the preceding meal, go ahead and splurge!  Maybe opt for sharing a dessert with your date – it is more romantic anyway!

We hope you have a great Valentines Day and look forward to seeing you at your next visit at Mediplan Diet!
