If you are anything like me, you have a soft spot for cheese. Unfortunately, many of my favorites pack a LOT of calories. We’ve come up with our top 5 low-calorie options for cheese lovers!
One of my personal favorites is this yummy cheese. Paired with fresh tomatoes and basil, it makes a wonderful snack. If you can find a skim-milk version, it is only 70 calories per ounce. The whole milk version of this gooey cheese is only 85 calories per ounce.
Crumbled over a salad, or melted on a sandwich, this tangy cheese brings a lot to the party. This cheese is only 75 calories per ounce. It is important to note that this varies by brand, so be sure to reach each label.
This hard, salty cheese is one of the most easily recognizable. Sprinkled over pizza, or cut right off the block, this delicious cheese is an American favorite. Parmesan cheese is on 20 calories per tablespoon, so enjoy!
4. Boursin Cheese
This spreadable cheese is higher on the fat content (thus the spreadability) but remains low in calories. Spread some on fresh veggies for a filling snack. The original Boursin has 40 calories per ounce, but comes in a variety of flavors so be sure to read the labels.
This spreadable cheese is similar to cream cheese, but less calories. Coming in at 70 calories per ounce, it makes a great substitute to an old favorite!
